The Rutabaga Rescue Performed By Threadbare Theatre
An All Ages Event
Commissioned by Words Aloud 6, in collaboration with The South Grey Bruce Literacy Council, The Rutabaga Rescue is fun for all ages. A play with its feet on the earth and its head in the sky. Led by two seasoned puppeteers, Ron Schweitzer and Joel Brubacher, and a talented cast of collaborators and volunteers, Threadbare Theatre is the spontaneous combustion of exuberance, creativity and social activism. This modern fable, narrated by a giant storybook, is rooted in the garden and features a young girl and giant puppets playing live music. The imaginative stage props are created from recycled and repurposed materials.
Coupled with this performance is ...Seeds... a themed writing contest for young people, with the four winning entrants bringing their words to the stage.
- When: Saturday, November 7, 1:00 pm
- Location: Victoria Jubilee Hall, Walkerton
- Cost: Regular $12; Child $6; Family pass $30
